It would appear that a majority of initial leaks have proven true, as Ubisoft officially revealed the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Origins, bringing along a new assassin, another ancient time period, and a refreshing exotic locale: Egypt. Creative Director of Ubisoft, Jean Guesdo, explained the Egypt setting, saying it is “3,000 years of history and mystery.” Assassin’s Creed Origins will hit shelves on October 27, 2017, for Xbox One and PS4.

Our new assassin, Bayek, is described as an “Egyptian sheriff,” and his story seems to begin as he returns home to Siwa to assassinate a false oracle named Medunamun. Within the gameplay demo, an upgrade system has been confirmed as well as a new mechanic by way of a playable eagle, perhaps a loyal animal to our protagonist.

With the earlier leaks proven true, it’s worth mentioning that those same leaks hinted at controllable boats, as well as other red flags hinting at an ancient Egyptian setting. You can watch the first official gameplay walkthrough below, which shows off the all-new combat and weapons system. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
