Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Version 5.0.0 features Banjo-Kazooie!

Banjo-Kazooie come to Smash!

Nintendo held their fall Nintendo Direct on September 4th, 2019. Among numerous game releases, they dropped the bombshell for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The latest confirmed character for Smash – Banjo-Kazooie – would be arriving shortly after the program.

Among the most heavily demanded characters in the Smash series, Banjo & Kazooie now return to a Nintendo console for their first time in nearly 20 years. Finally, in their Smash debut, the pair work together utilizing moves straight from Banjo-Kazooie and its sequel, Banjo-Tooie!

In addition to the characters, Smash Bros. also includes the Spiral Mountain stage, the introductory area from Banjo-Kazooie. It features a 3D-rotating stage that changes backgrounds amidst the platform. You’ll also find characters from the game appear in the background, to include Tooty, Gruntilda, Jinjos, and more.

Finally, Spiral Mountain hosts half a dozen remixes from Banjo-Kazooie as well as songs taken straight from the original game and its sequel. Among these includes a Spiral Mountain remix from original game composer Grant Kirkhope himself!

Be sure to check out Smash director Mr. Sakurai’s breakdown of the character as well.

Terry Bogard, who debuted in SNK’s Fatal Fury (also known as Garou in Japan) will arrive in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in November 2019. Included is a stage from the King of Fighters series. Finally, Nintendo has confirmed more characters for Smash DLC in the future. You can get a closer look at Terry here.
