Telltale’s Batman series debuted last year in August, with the studio’s first take on the Dark Knight. The episodic series featured an original story in the Batman universe, with Bruce Wayne and Batman taking centerstage. Both identities had their own subplot, with an interesting dynamic between the two. Telltale is looking to repeat the success again with their portrayal of Batman, in a new season premiering on August 8th.
The Caped Crusader is returning again in Batman: The Enemy Within, with episode one The Enigma arriving next week. The Enemy Within will span five episodes, much like the first season of Telltale’s Batman series. The second season will pin Batman against The Riddler, with Edward Nigma being a lot more sinister here – closely resembling jigsaw. The Joker returns as John Doe in the new season, with a favor to ask Bruce Wayne. The story will once again shift between Batman and Bruce Wayne, with both choosing which friends and allies to trust.
The choices you’ve made in Batman: The Telltale Series will reflect in The Enemy Within, however new players will be welcomed in addition to returning ones. Multiplayer will make a comeback, with Telltale’s crowd player feature will allow friends to interact with how the story progresses in the game. Batman: The Enemy Within will be available on the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Mac – with “iOS and Android-based devices” coming sometime later this year.
