The award winning BioShock originally released back in 2007 for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360; well fast forward to seven years later the game will be making its way over to iOS devices this upcoming summer, looks like Rapture got a whole lot smaller.

2K China will be handling the port over to various iOS devices; including the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. Using Havok’s cross-platform toolset, 2K China will be able to bring back the original physics and animations from BioShock – creating a seamlessly transitioned port over to mobile platforms.

“It’s a true testament to the power and breadth of Havok Physics and Havok Animation Studio that these technologies have seamlessly transitioned from a AAA console title to an amazing mobile experience,” said Brian Waddle, Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at Havok.

BioShock is expected to launch later this summer as a premium title for the latest iOS devices. No release date or pricing was announced yet, but we’ll keep you updated with any additional information we come across. Until then stay tuned!
