Smash Ultimate Joker

Version 3.0.0 , featuring Joker!

On Wednesday, April 17th, Nintendo distributed the latest version of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to Nintendo Switch consoles. Featuring Joker, the protagonist from Atlus’ JRPG, Persona 5, they’ve also included a number of new features and improvements to the game. Among them include Stage Builder, Edit Videos, Sharing, Smash World, and a roster-wide balance patch!

Joker, the code-name of the Persona 5 protagonist, makes his debut in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The first representative from JRPG and Japanese gaming giant, Atlus, this character comes in from one of the most popular JRPGs released this generation. Featuring a speedy-quick style with his mobility, use of magic, a dagger and a pistol, he can call upon his spirit being, Arsene, to deal out heavy damage!

Smash Ultimate features a new stage – Mementos, from Persona 5. The labyrinth of the collective consciousness in Japan, this dilapidated area plays a major, central role from the start to finish of the game.

Stage Builder

One of the new options released in Smash Ultimate includes the Stage Builder. Returning from Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Smash Wii U, the stage builder allows players to create their own stages. However, take a look at the options from the screenshot.

If you notice on both columns, the new mode features a plethora of options greater than its predecessors. No longer will you only rely on a few preset assets with minimal options. This will let you design stages of any size, shape, and color.

Video Editing, Sharing, and Smash World

Smash Ultimate Version 3.0.0 also features new video editing options. Players can now splice several of their own replays together to create videos. In addition, players can now share them to a an in-game database. The share option online now features Mii costumes, custom stages, replays, and custom videos!

Moreover, Nintendo also updated their Nintendo Switch Online mobile app. Newly added is Smash World. Originally announced in a pre-release Smash Ultimate trailer, this app allows players to watch videos submitted online. You can also find your own posts shared.

But perhaps the biggest change here is the ability to share to social media channels, Facebook and Twitter. You can now share these replays without having to take your SD Card out and putting it on your computer. It’s a simple process that will allow you to share your best replays and videos to all your friends and followers!

Character Balance Patch.

Nintendo released patch notes for all characters. One of the biggest changes to the game is the roster-wide nerf of projectiles. Projectiles in general no longer do as much shield damage as before. Moreover, players can now act out of parries faster than before. Nintendo released their notes for the patch in general here. You can also access the full list of balance changes here.
