No Microsoft isn’t buying Silent Hills

Recent rumors suggested that Microsoft was trying to buy the exclusive rights to the cancelled Silent Hills game by Konami and Guillermo Del Toro, well it looks like those rumors have now been squashed. Head of the Xbox division, Phil Spencer, laid those rumors to rest on twitter saying “Sorry, this isn’t true. Not sure where the rumor started but I don’t want to mislead anyone.”

For those hoping that Silent Hills would see the light of day will be disappointed to find out the game is still very dead in the water. Rumors pointed that the game was around eighty percent complete when it was canned, and that Microsoft was trying to buy it for billions by E3. Sadly Silent Hills is still cancelled, but hopefully Konami will try and sell the scrapped game at some point.
