PC Sales for Batman: Arkham Knight Being Pulled for the Meantime

Dave Karev

Earlier this week Batman: Arkham Knight launched on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but its PC launch was less than stellar. Many users who purchased the game on the PC reported performance and graphical issues, flooding Batman: Arkham Knight’s Steam page with negative reviews. WB Games has heard the many complaints and has officially decided to “suspend future game sales of the PC version” while they work on fixing the many issues that plague Arkham Knight.

“We want to apologize to those of you who are experiencing performance issues with Batman: Arkham Knight on PC. We take these issues very seriously and have therefore decided to suspend future game sales of the PC version while we work to address these issues to satisfy our quality standards.  We greatly value our customers and know that while there are a significant amount of players who are enjoying the game on PC, we want to do whatever we can to make the experience better for PC players overall.” – WB Games posted

Rocksteady handled the development of Batman: Arkham Knight on the PS4 and Xbox One, but the PC version was outsourced to Iron Galaxy Studios, who mostly handles console ports. It’s evident that the PC version was neglected and pushed to the last minute, judging by all the performance issues it has and poor optimization. Refunding upset owners is a step in the right direction, but it would be much better if they delayed the PC version to give users a better experience. Hopefully WB Games has learned not to rush a product.
