Originally due to arrive last Fall, Rockstar’s next entry in the highly praised Red Dead series Red Dead Redemption 2 was delayed to a Spring 2018 release. It now looks like another delay will hit; get ready to wait a few extra months to get your hands on Red Dead Redemption 2.
We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish. – via Rockstar
Red Dead Redemption 2 will now officially launch on October 26th for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, essentially a year delay from the originally planned release date for Fall 2017. Rockstar Games assures that the “wait will have been worth it”, we can only hope that is the final delay for the game.
The unfortunate announcement of another delay also came with some new screenshots, teasing us even further with Red Dead Redemption 2. We get to see another look at the outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang in action, as well as some lovely in-game landscapes. Visually this is Rockstars most stunning game to date, judging from the trailers and screenshots revealed so far. There is good reason for that; as Red Dead Redemption 2 will be Rockstar Games first title “created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware.” Let’s hope the extra time in development pays off when the game launches this October.
