Shadow of the Tomb Raider Leaked Again

Another leak appears for Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

It would appear as though another potential leak for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the upcoming third installment in the rebooted series, has surfaced. A marketing studio called TAKEOFF Creative USA has posted what appears to be some sort of mockup on their website; it displays what looks like proposals for logos and concept art for the new game. Interestingly enough, one of the logos features a marketing art from the previous game, Rise of the Tomb Raider, which raises the question of legitimacy.

As luck would have it, the official website for TAKEOFF Creative USA, where the artwork was posted, is currently down for maintenance, but we have the artwork and you can be the judge. I remain remarkably skeptical given the fact that the very font used for the logo can be obtained, free of charge, online. A potentially new logo slapped on an old picture does not inherently scream authentic to me.

With one of the logos showcasing the franchise protagonist, Lara Croft, wearing her primary outfit from her last adventure, Rise of the Tomb Raider, it really makes me question the authenticity of this artwork. It could very well be older artwork for the previous game that is now making its way into the public eye, or perhaps even fan-made. We have reached out to Crystal Dynamics for comment and will update this article should they respond.

The original leak came from a user on Reddit that managed to snag a photograph of someone’s laptop screen on the subway as they worked on what seemed to be a PowerPoint presentation for Lara’s upcoming adventure.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider has not yet been officially announced by Square Enix or Crystal Dynamics, but senior community manager, Meagan Marie, took to Facebook two months ago to answer a fan’s question about Lara Croft’s presence at E3 2017.  “This will be a quiet E3 for Lara,” Meagan Marie said, “But we’re looking forward to catching up on her new adventure later this year.” We could very well see the official unveiling at The Game Awards this December.
