Simon Belmont and Richter Belmont, from Castlevania, are now confirmed for Smash! In addition, Chrom (Fire Emblem: Awakening) and Dark Samus (Metroid Prime 2: Echoes) make their debut as Echo Fighters in the game. For those unfamiliar, an “Echo” Fighter is a sort of clone character. For instance, Daisy is the echo fighter to Peach. Chrom and Dark Samus boast various differences in their moves. Furthermore, Richter is also an Echo Fighter of Simon. They will feature various stats, such as speed, weight, and power, with an otherwise near-identical moveset.

The end of the Smash Bros. Direct also showcased the long gone-but-not-forgotten villain from Donkey Kong Country, King K. Rool. Featuring his weapons from various Donkey Kong games, K.Rool is looking to be a true heavy hitter with a wealth of projectiles. Longtime fans of the Donkey Kong franchise are quite familiar with King K. Rool. Despite his absence from Donkey Kong Country Returns and Tropical Freeze, fans have requested K.Rool’s appearance Smash Bros. as far back as previous entries of Smash.
