Aaron Greenberg, Xbox marketing lead, indiscriminately announced via Twitter recently that the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront will be available to Xbox One owners first, by way of EA Access, EA’s Xbox One subscription service.

In response to a tweet sent his way, asking if he was ready for Star Wars: Battlefront, Greenberg responded: “Very ready & play it first on #XboxOne!” Greenberg’s comment strongly suggests that Battlefront will be made available before the official launch via EA Access. In the past, EA offered free, timed-duration trials of its top releases, having Battlefield Hardline as the most recent contender.

EA Access is available exclusively on Xbox One for $4.99 per month or $29.99 for a year, the latter offering a 50% discount as opposed to a monthly subscription. In addition to early access, members who’ve subscribed also have access to the Vault, which offers numerous full titles from EA and a 10% discount on all digital titles and DLC contained therein.

DICE has also confirmed previously that as part of the Star Wars Celebration on April 17th, the first official gameplay footage from Battlefront will be revealed. Battlefront is a title that gamers have been requesting return in a high-definition manner since its original release back in 2004.

Star Wars: Battlefront is currently in development for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Stay tuned for further information as it becomes available.
