Super Smash Bros. 3DS is a smashing success with nearly 3 million copies sold

Sales for Super Smash Bros. 3DS have already hit 2.8 million units worldwide, Nintendo revealed in a press release. The hit brawler made its debut last month in Japan and worldwide release for the 3DS earlier this month, receiving praise from Smash fans and critics alike. A Wii U version is on it’s way as well, Nintendo confirmed a November 21 release date for the console version. Launching the same day are the “interactive amiibo figures” that include “twelve iconic” Nintendo characters at a retail price of $12.99 each, six more figures are planned to launch in December.

Smash veterans familiar with the GameCube controller can use their seasoned controllers to play Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Nintendo is introducing an adapter that lets you use up to four original GameCube or WaveBird controllers. The adapter will be available for $19.99 with a standalone GameCube controller detailed with Super Smash Bros. insignia available for you to buy at $29.99. “Additionally, Nintendo is offering a special bundle that includes Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, one Nintendo GameCube controller and one adapter at a suggested retail price of $99.99. All of these items launch Nov. 21.” Nintendo said in their press release.
