Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin Unleashes Thrilling RTS Action in First Gameplay Trailer and Confirms Open Beta Dates

Frontier Developments plc has released the highly anticipated first gameplay trailer for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin, a thrilling real-time strategy (RTS) game set in Games Workshop’s popular fantasy universe. The trailer showcases the intense clash between the Stormcast Eternals and Orruk Kruleboyz, giving players a glimpse of the action-packed gameplay they can expect.

Scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin offers a cinematic single-player campaign as well as 1v1 and 2v2 competitive cross-platform multiplayer modes. The game aims to cater to both seasoned genre veterans and newcomers to the RTS genre. To provide players with an early taste of the multiplayer experience, an open beta will be held from 7th to 10th July, allowing participants to engage in 1v1 online matches. The playable factions in the beta will include the Stormcast Eternals and Orruk Kruleboyz. A second open beta is scheduled for later this summer.

In the multiplayer matches of Realms of Ruin, the objective is to control more Victory Points than the opponent, depleting their score to zero in fast-paced and exhilarating battles. Players will fight on multiple fronts, capturing Arcane Conduits and constructing Bastions to strengthen their armies and acquire additional resources. Unlocking higher tiers of the tech tree will unleash each faction’s most powerful and visually stunning squads, resulting in a dynamic tug-of-war for map control. Those interested in participating in the open betas can sign up for more information on the game’s official website.

The game features distinct strengths and weaknesses for each faction, which evolve throughout the course of a battle. The Stormcast Eternals are formidable celestial champions armed with various tools to dismantle their foes. Their ranks consist of hammer-wielding Liberators, crossbow-carrying Vanguard Raptors, winged Prosecutors who rain down celestial hammers from above, and the fearsome Stormdrake Guard, capable of breathing draconic fire onto the battlefield. On the other side, the Orruk Kruleboyz are cunning and numerous, employing Gutrippaz melee squads, ranged Man-Skewer Boltboyz, and agile skirmishers like the grenade-throwing Hobgrot Slittaz. As the Kruleboyz gain strength, they introduce violent monsters such as the Marshcrawla Sloggoth and Mirebrute Troggoth to secure victory.

The recently unveiled gameplay trailer showcases the fierce conflict between the Stormcast Eternals and Orruk Kruleboyz as they vie for control of Ghur, the Bestial Realm. The trailer offers a glimpse of the game’s high-quality character models and animations, promising an authentic representation of the Warhammer Age of Sigmar universe. Realms of Ruin allows players to command one of four factions from the Age of Sigmar lore in real-time battles, with squads, heroes, monsters, and machines inspired by their tabletop counterparts.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin has been developed simultaneously for consoles and PC. Players using a controller will experience DirectStep™, an innovative and intuitive new interface for real-time strategy games, while PC players can opt for the traditional mouse and keyboard control scheme.

The game is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Interested players can wishlist the game now and stay updated by following its official social media accounts on FacebookTwitterInstagram and YouTube.
